If you were listening to the radio or to your television and heard a big-armed quarterback in his thirties leading a winning team and making a case for MVP, you would think it’s Tom Brady right? It’s Arizona’s Carson Palmer who has been by far the most efficient player. Palmer for the season so far has thrown for 3,006 yards ahead of Brady and another quarter back making a case (Cam Newton). Palmer has led the league so far with twenty-seven touchdowns and has been running away with the QB rate with 108.6 where Cam is not even in the top 15. Arizona also leads the league with the most points scored and most yards, Palmer is the anchor of probably the most prolific offense in the NFL. Some may argue that Palmer has little to do with his play, last year they were six and 0 with Palmer and then Palmer tore his ACL, in which then went 5-5, so that shuts that down. Palmer is the biggest factor if the Cardinal’s will be successful.
Palmer suffered his second ACL tear last season, almost feels like every time he gets going, something horrible happens. Palmer has said he has felt great the whole year and the organization has little fear anything horrific happens again. Palmer has been a perfect fit for the Cardinal’s as he already set a franchise record for most touchdowns through eight games and he’s on pace for having the best season of his career. Palmer has also shined in the bright light as well, in back to back primetime games, Palmer came up clutch down in the fourth against the Seahawks and then went on to beat the Bengals with less than a minute left and drove his team down the field to win the game. Bruce Arian also chimed in on Palmer in the MVP case, “I don’t see why not, He’s playing right there with them, if not better.”
