After being offered 200 million a year Cristiano Ronaldo joined the Saudi Pro League on January 2,2022. He joined the team named Al Nassr. In his first ever game with his new team, they ended up winning 1-0. 

Ronaldo has been a huge success and helped his new team. He won the Saudi Pro League Player of the Month award for February 2023 after scoring eight goals and assisting twice. So far, Ronaldo scored 43 goals in 41 games for Al Nassr FC in the Saudi Pro League. Overall he has scored 56 goals in 62 games for the Riyadh-based team. 

He has also helped the team increase their popularity. On average, Ronaldo helped to fill an additional 20% of the seats in his home team’s stadium when he played, 15% of the in the stadiums he visited, and 3% of the seats he did not even play.

 Some of the historical Saudi Arabia records are held by Majed Ahmed Abdullah. He is the all-time leading goal scorer for Saudi Arabia with 72 goals in 117 games. At the club level, he is the record goal scorer for Al Nassr and the all time top scorer of the Saudi Pro League. Saudi Arabia is considered one of Asia’s most successful national teams. Ronaldo is gaining on these records quickly.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s doing well in the Saudi league. His will to win and desire for the highest standards and work rate has been exemplary in Saudi Arabia so far and he is top scorer of the league and joint top in terms of assists.  Cristiano ended 2023 as the top goal-scorer in club football in the world with 53 goals in 59 games. 

Fans have been asking if Cristiano Ronaldo plans to leave Al Nassr. Cristiano Ronaldo confirmed he will stay in Saudi Arabia with Al Nassr next season. Cristiano Ronaldo reportedly wants to extend his stay at Saudi Pro League club Al Nassr until 2027. 

“I see Cristiano Ronaldo Breaking a lot of Al Nassr records if he keeps playing like he is now,” Bryan Luis Montano (9) said.
