The End of the 2016-2017 School Year
May 25, 2017
The end of the 2016 – 2017 school year is just around the corner, which means summer is quickly approaching. Now that the year is coming to an end, everyone is rushing to finalize their school work, final exams, and other school work. Students eagerly await the day they go home from school knowing that they don’t have to go back to school for a long two months. In addition, many students plan ahead and look forward to their annual summer activities. After a rigorous school year filled with tests and loads of homework, both staff and students are definitely in need of a long summer break. During the Summer, there are a variety of both indoor and outdoor activities that can be enjoyed on a hot, sunny day. For most people, this time of year is associated with fun and relaxation.
For us students, summer break usually consists of traveling, hanging out with friends, summer camps, and going to the beach. Although summer break may seem like a long time, it’s only about two months. Summer break basically consists of late nights and spending time with people who you care for. Students are given the opportunity to relax, travel to new places, and enhance Summer break allows for fun activities, in which we don’t usually have the time to participate in because of school.
Although, some may argue that summer is no fun. They complain of constant discomfort and fatigue caused by the heat. The end of the school year is a bittersweet time. The anticipation and the excitement only increases as we get closer to the last day of school. Also, the nostalgic feeling that comes along with this season brings back many fond childhood memories. Along with many others, I enjoy taking advantage of the weather by spending time outdoors. Whether you’re spending your summer break at home or traveling to another country, take the time to appreciate the moment…because you don’t realize the importance of a moment until it becomes a memory you look back on. We look forward to making memories during those endless summer nights.
