Celtics fans have a lot to be proud about this season despite the fact that their prized free agent acquisition Gordon Hayward fractured his tibula and dislocated ankle in his left leg on opening night against the Cleveland Cavaliers, Kyrie Irving and Al Horford have missed games due to a facial fracture from an elbow by a teammate and a concussion suffered respectively.  Even though most teams wouldn’t succeed after having 3 of their star players being out due to injury, they fought through it and now have the distinction of being the first NBA team in history to win consecutive double digit games after starting the season 0-2 and are now currently 12-2.

Celtics fans believe that they should be undefeated as when Hayward was injured 5 minutes into the season opener, that led to many Celtics players being in shock and unable to focus after witnessing such a tragic and horrific injury, they also believe that they didn’t have any prep time for their second game of the season, coming a day later against the Milwaukee Bucks, who they lost to 108-100.

One of the main reasons why the Celtics have been on this 12 game winning streak is their bench and younger players, who have learned to pick up the slack while some of the starters have been out due to their injuries. The most notable young players who have been grinding have been Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum, the Celtics last two first round picks from 2016 and 2017. Brown and Tatum show hustle and determination against their opponents, two traits that most Boston athletes possess and traits that make them fan favorites.

Another reason why the Celtics have been successful is their defense, which is currently #1 in the entire NBA. With strong defenders like Marcus Smart, Aron Baynes, and Marcus Morris, The Celtics are primed to have a lot of defensive records broken by the end of the season.

Although the Celtics still have a lot to face as it is still the 4th week of the NBA season, which teams such as the Golden State Warriors and Cleveland Cavaliers waiting for a chance to known down Boston, they look to be in a great position and might even make the NBA Finals for the first time since 2010.
