If you were a New England Patriots fan or an *NSYNC fan, Super Bowl 52 was not very kind to you on Sunday.

Sunday marked the death of something Redskins, Cowboys, and Giant’s fans enjoyed talking about, jokes about how the Philadelphia Eagles have no rings. After shocking the world by beating Tom Brady and the New England Patriots 41-33, It’s safe to say that the rest of the NFC East is lining up for their chance to show that their division is the Patriot’s kryptonite.

As usual for for the New England Patriots, Tom Brady was nothing short of impressive, throwing for 503 yards and 3 touchdown passes while once again, putting the Patriots underwhelming defense on their back. The defense who gave up 41 points, looked lethargic out on the field as a result of starting cornerback Malcolm Butler being relegated to special teams duty by coach Bill Belichick for allegedly being late for curfew and being caught with a bag of marijuana. Butler, who is expected to test free agency this off-season, was noticeably disappointed by Belichick’s decision, having been quoted saying “They gave up on me, It is what it is.” Along with the shoddy play by the defense, another big factor for the Patriots loss was kicker Stephen Gostkowski missing 2 field goals that would have helped the Patriots make this a much closer game. Once can only hope that Belichick will take the time to rebuild the offense to play around the strengths of injured star linebacker Dont’a Hightower, and try to help replace his staff with both offensive and defensive coordinators Josh McDaniels and Matt Patricia bolting to the Indianapolis Colts and Detroit Lions respectively.

On the other side of the field, The Philadelphia Eagles have earned this Championship with all of their hard work thanks to a large extent to second year head coach Doug Peterson, backup quarterback Nick Foles, who threw for 373 yards and 3 touchdowns, and general manager Howie Roseman, who successfully rebuilt the Eagles roster into a contender after dealing with a power struggle against the egotistical one year wonder head coach Chip Kelly. Despite the loss of important players such as Carson Wentz, Jason Peters, and Darren Sproles, The Eagles never lost sight on bringing that Lombardi home to the city of brotherly love, and for one night, they were truly the underdog that everybody was rooting for

Overall, this Super Bowl was everything a fan would enjoy, even the halftime show by Justin Timberlake was not that bad, (But the lack of *NSYNC rubbed me the wrong way J.T). The Eagles will look to come back to the big game next year hopefully with starting quarterback under center, and Tom Brady will try to work on his catching skills over the offseason, (He could get a few pointers from Nick Foles, that guy really knows how to catch a touchdown pass!)
