Valentine’s dayーa day where people spend time with their significant others or stay home and be their own valentines. Most people, if not everyone, would prefer to be enjoying the day with their significant others, but it is harder than it seems to secure a relationship in time to receive chocolate and stuffed bears. Thanks to online dating, however, it is now easier than ever before. An increasing percentage of couples in the United States and internationally have said they met through online dating websites and would recommend the method to others who are struggling to find someone special. Regardless of the reasoning behind joining the website, online dating forums have someone for anyone willing to dip their toes into a different dating pool.

The websites take location, age, and sometimes interests to match specific users with each other.  There are also multiple dating websites for those who tend to be a bit more picky on who they are interested in. An example being Christian mingle that is mostly used by Christians. Another example being Bumble where the woman makes the first move. On the other hand, for those who may not have a strong preference, there are popular apps and websites like Tinder and Match.com. There are so many different people that could be your potential special someone.

With the increasing influence of the internet and social media, online dating has risen in popularity and success rate. Although some may still prefer to meet their significant other the traditional way in a bar, school, or the public library, it is important to keep an open mind to the development of technology in recent years. There is nothing wrong with being alone, but if you are on the hunt to find someone to share your life with, give online dating a try. Maybe this time next year you will be out having a nice dinner with someone you met online. You never know what could happen.
