We are just beginning the new year, the time for diet commercials, failed New Years Resolutions, and the Super Bowl.  A lot has changed since the ball dropped in New York, and even more will change by the time 2016 rolls around.  Here are a few things that you can look forward to in 2015.

This year, in Music, we have Mark Ronson at the top of both US and UK charts, with his song, ‘Uptown Funk.’   On October 30, 2014 Ronson announced through twitter the release of the lead single of his upcoming album on November 10, 2014. The single, “Uptown Funk” features Bruno Mars vocals. On November 22, 2014, Ronson and Mars appeared as the musical guest on Saturday Night Live performing “Uptown Funk” and “Feel Right” (featuring Mystikal). “Uptown Funk” reached number one in the UK and US singles charts, and also became the all-time most streamed track in a single week in the UK, having been streamed a record 2.49 million times in a week in January 2015 the song was nominated for the Brit Award for British Single of the year.

One thing that is coming up in the movie industry that has nerds and regular folk alike waiting on the edge of their seats, is the new Star Wars movie, ‘The Force Awakens’.  .  It is set to come out on December 18, 2015, and is being directed by J.J. Abrams.  Jeffrey Jacob Abrams is an American director, producer, writer, actor, and composer, best known for his work in the genres of action, drama, and science fiction.  George Lucas signed over the rights to Star Wars to Disney in October 2012.  Now, three years later, they are finally creating a new episode in the epic saga worth $4,486,206,572.   While some fans are concerned about how true to the style of the Star Wars franchise will be and the amount of lense flares used, I am sure that everyone will at least see it once, no matter how the reviews are.

Something huge is looming on the horizon.  The 2016 election.  Hillary Clinton is likely running for president, and her supporters have already started her campaign with the slogan “Ready for Hillary,” which was started by two volunteers in January 2013, Ready for Hillary quickly became a nationwide grassroots movement encouraging the former Secretary of State to run for president in 2016. Now, with over two million supporters and over 50,000 grassroots donors, many Americans are expressing their support for a potential Hillary run.  This would obviously be a huge step in America’s constantly evolving view toward non white-male presidents.
